If you’re looking for the perfect Instagram shot in Italy, Burano is the place for you. Only an hour away from Venice, you will be starstruck with this islands beauty. When I went it was raining and cloudy but I still managed to capture some great moments.
The experience of visiting Burano is like standing on top of a rainbow. Every single house is brightly painted in beautiful colors and it is the perfect quaint Italian town. Similar to Venice, there are not that many actual activities to do in Burano, but it is still definitely worth a visit. I recommend going anyway to explore, grab a bite to eat, and snap the perfect photo.
When I knew I was traveling to Italy, Burano immediately shot to the top of my list of things to see. What makes Burano so special to me is that there is so much effort put into place by the locals that live there to preserve the colors of the houses and keep the island beautiful. We spent only two days in Venice but it was more than enough time to schedule out this trek for half a day. Even if you are only staying in Venice for one night you have to find a way to make it out to this place. Here are my favorite types of shots to get in Burano. The matchy-matchy shot
I wore the most colorful item that I packed for my weekend getaway to Burano so I would fit in with the houses on the island. Luckily I found my own twin and got such a great pic with it. You have to find the perfect wall background for your look!
The cutest little corridors
Burano looks amazing from the corridors because the colors just peek out and are more subtle. If you have a minimal Instagram theme and want to visit without switching up your usual content this is a way to get this to fit in with your aesthetic.
Three Bridges for the full-on Burano rainbow
The houses look so good all together when they show off their colorful ensemble. You obviously can’t leave without getting that shot. Head to a street called “Three Bridges” for the scenic shot you are looking for. You will know you are there when you see Burano’s famous triplet of bridges, of course.
