You know what they say, “the higher the heels, the closer to God.” I really love wearing high heels. That is why I have been desperately waiting for the return of summer. While my heeled boots were definitely made for walking, nothing draws my attention more than my shoe collection for summer. No matter how cold it is, I always want to be wearing these shoes. My walks to campus usually call for something more practical but I wear a heel as often as I can. It was still snowing outside when I ordered my first batch of summer shoes from ASOS right before spring break.
Growing my shoe collection has been on my mind. I am still looking for some more pairs to prepare me for my summer wardrobe. Graduating means I no longer have to walk a mile to class so I can wear heels more often. Yay! Since I have been thinking about this so much lately, I wanted to share on my blog what I have already been wearing for spring/summer and what I am still looking to purchase. Let’s start with what’s already in the closet:
Pastel Knee Boots
As I have said on my Instagram, my account has become a fan page for my white boots. I also have a lilac pair, currently only available in brown, that is similar that I can’t keep off my feet. They just go with absolutely everything and I think they are such a cool addition to my shoe collection. Spring and summer boots are perfect for my shoe collection because they are perfect for those transitioning days. Sometimes it’s barely warm enough to wear a pair of boots and I like to slip mine on to stay warmer while also looking stylish. The pastel pair can really MAKE an outfit.

Mid-Heel Sandals
These are just the perfect summer staple for me and so comfortable. I got mine from ASOS but if you are looking for a more high-end mid-heel I suggest By Far. Definitely trying to add something from there to my shoe collection this year. I’ve been crushing on their shoes and bags as summer staples for a while. Definitely, yeah want to keep growing in this category.

A Perspex Heel
I have discussed Perspex before when it first emerged as part of the designer runway spectrum at Chanel. There are a lot of bad perspex options that I do not find chic. Honestly, I love Kim Kardashian’s style but a lot of her perspex shoes just aren’t my type. I have been finding some chic ways to do perspex lately that have made me more interested in the trend. The best example of this is Maryam Nassir Zadeh dupes. I have a pair of shoes from ASOS that look a lot like their shoes that have me thinking of investing in a nicer Olympia pair from MNZ. I wore them once on Easter and plan on using them for brunch and office days all summer long.

Cutout Boots
I wear my cutout boots into the fall and in early spring a lot, they have been part of my shoe collection for quite some time. On cooler days in the summer they make a good statement. I love wearing boots so the cutouts let me choose this style all year long. The best place for cutout boots is definitely 3.1 Phillip Lim. I have two pairs from there that I love to wear. It is fun to pair them with cool socks to make a statement.

On My Wishlist
These have all been great additions to my repertoire but there are some more styles that I am shopping for the new summer season. I picked up on a lot of these during New York Fashion Week and also by browsing my Pinterest and Instagram of course. These trends have been styled in many beautiful ways and definitely want to give it a try down the line. I also have a few specifics I am looking for to match my summer plans. A Formal High Heel
I have a few pairs of formal high heels but I am looking for a new pair because I have some big events coming up this year. Graduation includes a booze cruise formal, commencement ball, and graduation day itself. Plus, I am in a wedding! I have been on the hunt for a really comfortable pair of nude designer heels that will last me a long time. I will be on my feet a lot at those events so it is a must. Everyone says Stuart Weitzman is the most comfortable option. I am thinking of “The Nudist” since it is simple and chic. There will be an update if I decide to choose this one or if I find something that is more comfortable.

Barely There Strappy Sandals
I have seen these on every influencer on Instagram and I am really interested in buying into this trend. There is a Zara pair that has been highly popular. I have thought about purchasing them but they are $80 and I know the quality might not be very good. Thinking of holding off on this pair or finding a look-a-like from another brand. Doesn’t have to be less money, just looking for something that will last through at least two summers. If you know anything like this pair let me know.

Ugly Sneakers
I have been wearing my trusty trainers from Fila for quite some time now and they aren’t as white as they are supposed to be. There is something cool about a pair of sneakers that have been through a lot but I am thinking of looking for a new pair. This trend is far away from losing its cool. I have seriously considered buying the insta-famous Balenciaga pair that everyone is obsessed with but I am worried it’s not worth the investment this late in the game. Also, don’t want to seem too basic. What do you guys think?

Snakeskin Sandals
You guys know I love snakeskin. I have talked about it a lot this year since it is one of the top trends. I love a good pair of snakeskin boots but they can be kind of basic and I have chosen not to wear the print in this form. However, I think sandals are a twist on this fall/winter trend that can bring them into summer.

Sculptural Heels
Inspired by Jacquemus, this type of shoe has an extremely sophisticated look. It also looks difficult to walk in which makes me nervous but it could be worth a try. Honestly, I am not sure this style is for me but it is all the buzz this season so I decided to feature it here for you guys. Anyone a fan of this shoe?

So there you have it! That is what I am shopping for to hopefully enhance my shoe collection over the summer. There is one more thing on my wishlist but it might be too expensive. I am moving to New York in a few weeks and I really would like to have a shoe wall. This involves a bookcase like setup and I am currently looking for a way to incorporate it into my room in an affordable way. I have seen some DIY videos but they involve damaging the walls and since I am renting I can’t do that. If anyone has an affordable shoe wall please tell me where you got it! I am thinking of just putting nails in the walls anyway and fixing them up when I move out. If I figure out how to make the wall for my shoe collection would you like me to share that on here?
