I have decided to take a break from my usual fashion and travel content to share with you a few guides to living in London. I just wrapped up my finals week of study abroad and I thought a guide to places to study in London with wifi would be fitting for the first post.
When you decide to actually do the “study” part of study abroad, this post should come in handy. One of my favorite parts of studying in London as opposed to South Bend is the numerous trendy coffee shops in the city for doing work. A lot of places here are dedicated to having strong wifi and a good environment for professionals and students. I spend more time writing blog posts than studying which meant I was able to put these coffee shops to good use.
The main problem I ran into was when I wanted to get work done after class, most cafes and coffee shops either close around this time or turn into a bar. If it is later at night and you are looking for good places to study in London with wifi, your best bet is to go to a chain (Costa, Café Nero, Starbucks, or Pret a Manger). Obviously, this is not ideal because these locations do not really float with my vibe. For the daytime, I am more into the trendy places like…
LABS High Holborn
I discovered this spot way too late in my study abroad semester. After eating brunch next door at My Old Dutch, I noticed a ton of people on laptops and immediately knew I had to come back. They rent out spaces for groups if you have a meeting that you would like to take and it is not too crowded. As far as places to study in London with wifi, it can be tricky to get online here. They sometimes require you to download the app to get an access code. There is even a basement that is quieter if that is what you are looking for and they occasionally offer complimentary refreshments alongside their menu. Definitely, wish I found this place sooner!
Grind
This is known as the best place to study in London with wifi because one of their mottos is strong coffee and even stronger wifi. This is another place that is known for getting work done as you will see a lot of laptops when you come in. I told a funny little story previously about how I ended up studying in the nightlife time period of this establishment. However, if you go to Grind during the day you are definitely going to be productive. I love their signature red mugs and the fact that every location has a different menu tailored to its surrounding neighborhood. Definitely one of the most well-known places to study in London with WiFi.
Timberyard Seven Dials
Everyone loves to spend time at TY! This place is constantly packed with so many people and has more laptops in it than I’ve ever seen. One time while I was here, an entire PR firm was sitting at the table next to me spending their workday over TY coffee. If you require a quieter workplace in order to be productive this might not be your best option. They have a table at the front of their business that is filled with so many different types of cakes, cookies, brownies, and treats. They are constantly rotating their options so there is always something new to eat here. They also have really good avo-toast and brunch on the weekends. This is a place to study in London with WiFi where you are guaranteed to overhear an entertaining conversation.
Coffee Island
This is a place to study that is more of a traditional experience. The vibe at this coffee shop is pretty normal compared to the other few that I have described. The previous coffee shops I mentioned are made to be workplaces for students and professionals but this is more of what you would expect. Nevertheless, it is still a great place to study in London with WiFi because it will be much less crowded than some of the other options that you will find. The decor and environment are amazing and if you are looking for a little extra privacy there is an upstairs area that is worth a visit to as well. This chain is based in Greece and known for making a really good brew.
