Coachella is known to be the biggest music festival on the west coast. As of recent years, Coachella has become more about the fashion than the music. Street style photographers and celebrity bloggers have taken over the guest list. Attendees spend months planning each and every outfit and they are all competing to be featured on fashion websites. Even though I have never attended, I always look forward to Coachella weekend because of the great fashion trends that start there. Here are my personal favorites of the weekend.
It’s no secret that I absolutely adore Chiara Ferragni. She has inspired me to launch my own fashion blog and to work hard towards achieving my dreams. This look immediately reiterated why I am such a big fan of hers. When Hedi Slimane put tiaras on the runway in an Yves Saint Laurent show last fall, I was opposed to the idea immediately. I honestly thought that the trend was nearly impossible to pull off and would never pick up, but Chiara proved me wrong. The grunge piece makes her look like she is a modern day princess. This is definitely my favorite look of the weekend.
Victoria Secret Angel, Jasmine Tookes, wears a sophisticated bohemian outfit in her maxi skirt and crop top. Her outfit reminds me of an island vacation. It appears to be easy to move around and dance in. Her headband pulls her hair out of her face making her cheekbones pop and it’s yellow color is flattering on her skin tone. I can’t wait to see more of her outfits!
I don’t usually comment on menswear, but I loved this! Neels Visser is a model who has just entered the world of comedy with his hilarious Instagram videos. His outfit at ‘Chella was effortless and flattering. I have no idea what his shirt is supposed to mean, but it adds a vintage feel to his outfit. The paisley bandana pattern has been very popular in street style recently so his use of it shows that he is good at following trends. The bandana completes the look and perfectly frames his sculpted jawline.
One of the newest Victoria Secret Angles, Josephine Skriver is a Danish bombshell. She just started hanging out with the crew of angels and her first Coachella 2016 look was phenomenal. Wearing blue jeans and a white shirt is nothing new, but she makes it her own by modernizing it. The classic look became futuristic when she added a complicated body chain and trendy sunglasses. The body chain also does a great job of drawing attention to her 6 pack as well as highlighting her denim on denim outfit.
I can’t wait to see what fashion moves the stars will pull next week in Coachella!
