I know in the darkest days of February you may not be thinking about the amazing vacations, endless laughter, and beach bod that comes along with summer. I can’t help but see a montage like that in my head every time the season comes to mind lol. It is never too early to start having those visions, especially when a vacation is always an option. If you are looking to be dressed on trend in the summertime you better get started now on building a wardrobe that reflects this. Trends for summer can be hard to implement into your wardrobe during this time but it is worth the effort. Things are way easier as you transition to the next season if you link them all together.
It is so weird to be that in the depths of winter we sit for runway shows all about summertime. It is always a great reminder that we can shed our winter furs for some bikinis in no time. But did you know that you can start dressing for summer now? It’s crazy!! The trends I am going to cover here are concepts that many fashion-forward people have been wearing for months. If you haven’t seen them yet, by summer they will be turning heads and dominating every street corner.
For this blog post, I have partnered with ASOS to share what we have decided are the must-have trends for this summer. I am in complete agreement on them with the trends we have decided which are neon, animal print, and naturals. I am working with ASOS DESIGN to tell you about their student discount which gives you 10% off all year round! We are giving away $5,000 so sign up through my link: it’s a win-win situation for you. I have been using this discount for years and now I know exactly what trends to shop. Here are my guides for how to style these trends for summer:
NEON
Looking like a fluorescent lightbulb just got really cool out of nowhere. I remember in 8th grade everyone was obsessed with neon. We had neon dances all the time and we all got so excited for them! This is when things always got crazy for us. For a while, it was considered so weird to wear anything neon. Also, during this time everyone wore neon yellow. Well in 2019 people are wearing neon green and I am loving it! I wore this for the first time at fashion week and felt so good doing it. It was a risky look for sure but was certainly on trend. It’s an easy trend for summer to get started on since it comes in so many turtleneck options.
ANIMAL
Rawr! You guys already know I am obsessed with this trend. I talk about the snakeskin print trend every time I open my mouth. It’s a godsend. Well if you love fun prints you are in luck. Snakeskin isn’t the only new animal in town. Cheetah, Leopard, Zebra, Giraffe, Tiger—if you would see it on a typical safari, you might find it in your “add to cart.” Animal print is suddenly so chic! I am still wary when dipping my toes in anything but snakeskin but I am such a fan of how so many women are wearing this. I used to be so scared of these prints but now seeing how creative you can get with them I’m sold. Also, I am obsessed with all the hair accessory trends but especially headbands so I had to wear one in this post!
NATURALS
Send nudes. In every. freaking shade. Everything from white, beige and this beautiful rust fur coat have me swooning. This is the color palette of the year. Natural, warm, and fuzzy! I love it because it is easy to match with your makeup looks. A bronzy eyelid with an emphasis on those highlights will make your full look come together when it meets your face. Who else is ready to go au natural this season?
Now that I have my favorite spring/summer trends nailed down, I am ready to hit the ground running. Summer couldn’t come any sooner! I have so many great things and new beginnings to look forward this time around and I couldn’t be more excited about it. Until then, I will be filling my closet with essentials that I can wear year-round highlighting my favorite trends. Do you have any favorite trends for summer that I forgot to mention? Let me know in the comments so I can stay updated!
