In recent years, Versace’s futuristic take on fashion has been awe-inspiring. It’s almost as if the brand had a wake-up call that took them back to the past. ’90s Versace is the epitome of the juxtaposition of streetwear and high fashion so it is a blessing to relive the history of the brand. The show featured the aspects of Versace that made it famous in the first place. As it is the 20 year anniversary of Gianni’s death, it was touching to see the brand pay tribute to the Versace that existed during his reign as creative director. Here are my favorite looks from the show:
This was by far my favorite look of the entire show. The classic Versace print in the silk pajama-style robe is exactly what Gianni would have wanted going down the catwalk. The mini backpack is also a killer addition to this aesthetic.
I spoke previously about how the preppy, Blair Waldorf, look has returned to fashion. This further proves my point. This design could have been the uniform that the cast of Gossip Girl wore for the entire series. Catholic school girl chic.
I had to do a double-take here because I sincerely thought I was looking at the ghost of ’90s Naomi Campbell. Her twin looks stunning in this black and white ensemble.
…and on to the focus of the show… the boys. The baby blue monochromatic look again reminds me of an ongoing repeting trend I have taken notice of. Even though it was designed for men, I would love to wear something like this and am definitely finding inspiration from it.
